jake in the box...

I told Jake on the way home from school that Grandma was coming for dinner.  Of course, He asked "why?".  I said "because we have a present to give her for her birthday".   "What is it?" he asked.  I said "I put your smile in a box so Grandma can take it home and see it whenever she wants."  He simply replied "ok".

   
 
 
 
 

v is for Very in love....

Here is number 3 in a four part series..... Dontcha just love - LOVE?  Everything thing about it is so sweet and wonderful.  Food-love, people-love, pet-love, thing-love, coffee-love...... the whole sha-bang!  It makes getting out of bed so worth it (and getting back into it too).  Horray for L-O-V-E !

Can I get an "O"? (yah..... I'm not going to touch that one...)

Here is the O of the 4 canvas series.  Tried a landscape.  I think it's cute.  

Yep, that's my floor - bamboo. Indestructible. Perfect for a 4 year old.... and a couple 40+ year olds too.

a whole lota love...

 The first of 4 8x10 canvases.  Painting and scrapbooking all rolled into one.  

Love does seem to be a theme with me right now. ;-)))) and I'm lovin' every minute of it.

 

a display of love.

My son, Jake, is a fantastic artist.  By the time he was 3, I had quite a bit of artwork to enjoy.  I didn't want to just store it in a box..... so I made a huge piece of wall art to proudly display all his work  in my living room.

First I cut and painted several pieces of wood in a variety of sizes and colors.

 Then, I used YES all purpose stik flat glue to attach portions of his beautiful artwork to the painted wood blocks.

After arranging and adhering the wood blocks onto a thin sheet of particle board, I framed it and put on several coats of Minwax Polycrylic protective finish.  Then, up it went.

Now Jake's handiwork is a wonderful contribution to our home.  :-)
